KSI Montenegro Earns Dual Re-accreditation from CIS and the IB

Jun 29, 2026

KSI Montenegro has successfully completed its re-accreditation review with both the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the International Baccalaureate (IB). The dual confirmation follows a thorough evaluation of our curriculum, pastoral care, governance, and overall school operations, and it reaffirms our position as the only IB World School offering the full continuum, from the Primary Years Programme through to the Diploma Programme, in Montenegro.

CIS and IB evaluators spend months reviewing how a school actually runs. They look at how teachers plan lessons, how students are supported, how leadership makes decisions, and how the whole community lives out its stated values. Passing both reviews at once means KSI Montenegro has been independently verified against some of the highest standards in international education, placing the school firmly among the leading institutions in the wider Balkan region.

For families already at KSI Montenegro, this is confirmation that the school you have chosen continues to meet rigorous, internationally recognised benchmarks. For families considering a move to Montenegro, whether for work, lifestyle, or a fresh start, it answers one of the first questions every parent asks: will my child’s education be recognized wherever we go next? With this re-accreditation, the answer is a confident yes.

The visiting teams reviewed everything from classroom instruction to student wellbeing programmes, and the feedback highlighted the strength of the school’s academic standards, the consistency of its IB programmes across all phases, and the genuine sense of community that runs through daily school life. The full presentation of highlights from the visit has been shared with the KSI Montenegro community, and the school will continue to use the feedback to guide its development over the coming years.

Re-accreditation comes around every 5 years, and each cycle is an opportunity to reflect on what is working and what can improve. KSI Montenegro’s leadership has been clear that this result is a credit to the whole community, students, teachers, support staff, and families, who together create the standards that the evaluators came to see in action.

If you are exploring international schooling options in Montenegro and want to understand what this accreditation means for your family, our admissions team is happy to walk you through it, and to arrange a campus visit so you can see it for yourself.
